Smaran Performing Arts is proud to present SMARAN DANCE FESTIVAL 2019

Smaran Performing Arts will conduct auditions for various classical dance forms namely Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Mohiniyattam. We invite all those who are trained in these art forms to apply for our auditions. Selected dancers get an opportunity to perform solo for about 20 mins to a 300+ audience. This is also a stage that presents a well-known dancer as a celebrity artist.

Auditions are open from Feb 16th, 2021 to Feb  24th, 2021.  Read Rules below before filling the Registration form.

Rules and Regulations:

 

  1.  SDF will showcase the following classical dance forms and for only Bay Area residents - Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Odissi, and Mohiniyattam

  2.  This is a festival for young dancers (15 years or older) who have completed Arangetram/Solo Debut Performance (at least 2 year ago)  and have been regularly practicing under a Guru after Arangetram

  3. Applicants will be required to upload a 15 mins long video of their recent solo performance

  4. Our expert panel will thoroughly review your application before making a decision. Smaran Performing Arts and our expert panel’s decision will be final

  5. Youtube Video link has to be attached in the application and shouldn't be shared through Google Drive. Video more than 15 mins will not be accepted. 

  6. Share only Solo performance video, Group Performance videos will not accepted.

  7. No inquiries or appeals will be entertained.

  8. Results of the audition will only be communicated by email.

  9. Selected dancers will be given 25 mins slot to showcase their talent.

  10. Dancers should use best quality studio recorded music only (No Live orchestra).

  11. Selected Participants will have to sell minimum 20 tickets. 

  12. Interested dancers can apply to the festival  on or before  Feb24th, 2021.​

 

Note: Judging Panel has always appreciated good quality videos, with neat Aharyam, Lighting and Ambience.
