With the growing popularity of various Indian Classical Dance Forms, we find numerous gifted and able dancers all over the world. In an effort to provide a platform for such young dancers, to showcase their dexterity, Director and Founder of Smaran Performing Arts, Smt. Vidyalatha Jeerage, launched Smaran Dance Festival.

Smaran Dance Festival was first organized in September 2014 in San Francisco Bay Area, California. SDF is a unique platform in Bay Area that aims at encouraging and providing more opportunities to a lot of young adept dancers in different genres like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Odissi and other art forms of India.  

This platform is open to any/all proficient dancers who have completed “Arangetram” (Rangapravesam). All the entries are carefully evaluated by a panel of expert artists in the respective genres. And every year 2-4 amazing dancers will be chosen to perform solo at the festival.
